From a level on the chart to an order on your account
One set of rules, the same code in the backtest and in live trading, running on your own MetaTrader 5 account.
- 01
Mercury maps the levels
Every few minutes Mercury redraws the levels that matter on six markets: H4 fair value gaps, daily and H4 swing points, yesterday’s point of control and value area, and every daily POC price has not revisited in 20 days. Only closed candles are used.
- 02
It waits for a real breakout
When price returns to a level, Mercury watches the next three candles. A trade is only possible if one of them closes through the far side of the level by at least 0.2 ATR.
- 03
The next candle must confirm
The candle after the breakout must close beyond the level again, close in the direction of the trade and keep the breakout candle’s extreme. Most false breakouts fail this test.
- 04
Risk is set before the order
The stop goes one ATR away or on the far side of the level; the target is 3R (4R for the value-area strategy). Your position size is calculated from your equity, your chosen risk and your broker’s tick value. Trades whose costs would exceed 20 % of the stop are skipped.
- 05
Your MT5 executes it
The order goes to your MetaTrader 5 terminal through the Mercury Bridge EA, with stop and target attached. Mercury holds at most two positions per market and closes any trade still open after eight hours.
- 06
You see everything
Your dashboard shows every signal — taken or skipped and why — every trade, your result in R and dollars, and your equity curve. Telegram can alert you on every trade.
The rules, in full
Higher-timeframe levels only
Every trade starts at a level drawn on the H4 or daily chart, or from yesterday’s volume profile. No indicator crossovers, no guessing.
A breakout that holds
Price must close through the far edge of the level by at least 0.2 ATR within three candles, and the next candle must close beyond it again, in the trade’s direction.
Trades only 12:00–16:00 UTC
Mercury enters during the London–New York overlap, when volume is highest and breakouts follow through.
Fixed stop, fixed target
Every order carries its stop and its 3R or 4R target from the first second. Nothing is moved by feel.
8-hour maximum hold
A trade that has not hit its stop or target within eight hours is closed. No overnight drift, no forgotten positions.
At most 2 positions per market
Mercury never stacks more than two trades on the same market, and skips any trade whose costs would exceed 20 % of its stop.
